Education == national defence

Education is not a routine activity which is divorced from national defense. It is, in the most fundamental and important sense, the first line of national defense.A quote from the former mayor of Chicago, snapped inside a display at the Chicago Public Library. Jeremy recommended that I take a picture of it for Jason. It’s a bit disturbing to think about education being a branch of national defence, but I suppose a good education could be a defence against just about anything. Right? (Source: Random Access Mazar)
