Internet librarian - day 1

Once again the beautiful city of Monterey, California welcomes the popular Internet Librarian Conference. The welcoming remarks inform us that it will be here again for at least the next four years - this drew enthusiastic applause from the audience of about 1,400. Who can blame them, an annual pilgrimage to such a lovely place would be high on anyone’s nice things to do list. Although welcoming and well appointed, the Monterey Conference Center does have some limitations though. The opening keynote was in a room far wider than it was long The stage was in the centre with a projection screen on each side about half a room away. This meant that you either looked at one of the screens or the speaker but not both. The screens were far too low down so you couldn’t read the bottom of the slides.
