GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Provide leadership and supervision of all operations and programs of the Library on all campuses. Responsible for the development of services, activities and personnel of the Library. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Provost.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Is responsible for the supervision for all professional, classified and student personnel assigned to the Library.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:Responsible for the overall operation of the Library; working with the Provost, library staff and appropriate personnel to develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures which will govern the activities of the Library.Supervise all professional library staff and appropriate classified staff. Recruit, select, evaluate, and provide training and professional development opportunities for Library personnel.Work with Library staff and other appropriate college staff to develop long-range plans, cost projections and staffing needs for the delivery of Library services. Maintain statistics on Library activity and prepare reports.Prepare budget request and supervise expenditures for all print, non-print and electronic resources, supplies and equipment under the aegis of the Library. Responsible for the quality and balance of the resources of the Library.Work with Library staff and faculty to develop, implement and integrate information literacy standards and programs into the curriculum.Maintain an effective Circulation, Reference and Library Instruction services.Supervise the activities necessary for a smoothly operating Technical Services (cataloging) Department.Oversee the development and implementation of consortium activities, such as Minuteman Library Network, Massachusetts Council of Chief Librarians of Public Institutions of Higher Education (MCCLPHEI) and the Metrowest Regional Library system. …
