Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is a nationally and internationally recognized research and development lab based in Washington State.This position reports to the Manager of the Information Services Group and provides professional information research services for PNNL staff and the staff of specific other Hanford contractors and corporate account holders. Duties include leadership for the library’s Information Services & Research Assistance team, as well as other assignments related to information research services. The incumbent must be self-motivated and able to research complex problems, identify and retrieve needed information, and deliver targeted results to customers.This position requires superior customer service support to internal staff as well as external customers who all have varying levels of expertise with information research, information literacy, and information management knowledge and tools. The position requires excellent professional communication skills to deliver solutions in accordance with best practices in information research, analysis, and delivery, as well as proper procedures and change management practices and within service level agreement.Qualifications- Use of science/technical and business literature to fulfill information needs of researchers or academic faculty, competitive intelligence and intellectual property/commercialization staff, and external business customers.- Working knowledge of multiple, complex sci/tech and business databases- Leading multiple person team responsible for a service desk, an information or reference desk, or comparable public service desk; experience leading consultation services for information discovery, management, and delivery.- Training customers in use of library materials, including technology evolving information platforms and interfaces, new products; bibliographic management tools; repositories; etc. …
